UPDATE: Netflix has opted to cancel Captain Fall with 10 unaired episodes that will no longer be released. Initial report continues below.

Netflix ordered 20 episodes of the Captain Fall to be released in two parts, be it a Part 2 or Season 2. However it appears that while the second part/season has been developed, the prospect of those episodes airing still hinges on viewer response to the first 10 episodes.

As stated by exec producer Joel Trussell:

We have 10 more episodes fully written, recorded and storyboarded that will complete the season if we get enough viewership. [..] “Technically this is just the first block of season 1. That’s why the first 10 ends with a cliffhanger, because we made it to have a complete arch over 20 eps.
