💀Velma Season 3: Cancelled 💀

Max Cancels the Animated Series After Two Seasons 🕵️‍♀️🚫

Max has cancelled Velma after two seasons, opting not to renew the adult animated series for a third season. This announcement comes almost 6 months after its 10-episode sophomore run. Created by Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy, the show reimagined the classic Scooby-Doo character in a fresh and irreverent take, focusing on Velma Dinkley’s origin story as a mystery-solving teen.

A Divisive Journey for Velma 🧩

The series, which aimed to offer a new twist on the beloved franchise, stirred up mixed reactions among fans and critics alike. While Velma attempted to delve into the coming-of-age struggles of its titular character, it didn’t quite manage to win over the broader fanbase of Scooby-Doo. Despite this, Max praised the team’s effort, stating:

“Over the past two seasons, Mindy and Charlie have created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic whodunit franchise. While we won’t be moving forward with another season, we thank them for their compelling coming-of-age storytelling, unrivaled clues, and hilarious hijinks.”

With this cancellation, Velma joins the growing list of Warner Bros. and Max projects being cut amid broader cost-saving measures and shifting priorities.
