💀Orphan Black: Echoes Season 2: Cancelled 💀
Orphan Black: Echoes will not multiply. AMC has cancelled the series after just one season. The announcement comes less than a month after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 10-episode U.S. run on AMC and BBC America, having aired last year on Stan in Australia. ðŸŽ
A spin-off of the beloved 2013 series Orphan Black, which enjoyed a five-season run, Echoes took viewers into the near future. The series followed a group of women entangled in a complex journey to uncover the mystery of their identities, revealing a poignant story of love and betrayal. Despite the intriguing premise, Echoes struggled to live up to the high expectations set by the mothership series. Launching to mixed reviews (60% on Rotten Tomatoes) and lacking the passionate fanbase of its predecessor, the show ended its one-and-done run on August 25.
Despite the show’s potential and ties to the original series, Echoes couldn’t replicate the success or magic of Orphan Black. 💔
