North Woods Law: Washington State

In the vast landscape of Washington State, the Department of Fish and Wildlife Police are on the front lines. From the city, to the coast, to the desert, this elite force protects both wildlife and people. With only 143 officers to police more than 42 million acres of rugged terrain filled with wild animals and dangerous people, the officers risk their lives on a daily basis. Whether tracking and capturing bears with their one-of-a-kind Karelian Bear-Dog Unit, chasing and apprehending fugitives at large, detaining wildlife poachers, arresting violent criminals or making drug busts, it’s all in a day’s work for the DFW police.
