About The Prince TV Series

THE PRINCE is a satirical take about the imagined inner workings of the royal family through the eyes of an animated Prince George, the youngest heir to the throne, as he spills all the royal "tea" on his family, followers, and the monarchy. Featuring a star-studded voice cast, THE PRINCE is an outlandishly funny, warm, and one-of-a-kind parody of Buckingham Palace's residents and staff.

Gary Janetti stars in the series as the fictionalized Prince George alongside the voice talents of Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Alan Cumming as George's butler Owen, Frances de la Tour as Queen Elizabeth, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Condola Rashad at Meghan Markle, Iwan Rheon as Prince William, Dan Stevens as Prince Charles, and Sophie Turner as Princess Charlotte.

Guest stars on the series include: Paul Anderson, Samuel Barnett, and Sacha Dhawan as various voices; and as themselves, Andy Cohen, Brad Goreski, Kelly Ripa and from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills": Garcelle Beuavais, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Teddi Mellencamp, Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna.

THE PRINCE is produced by 20th Television Animation with animation by Bento Box. The series is created, written, and executive produced by four-time Emmy(R) nominee Gary Janetti ("Will & Grace," "Family Guy" and "Vicious") and produced by Eli Dolleman ("The Cleveland Show"). The animation is executive produced by Emmy(R) winners Joel Kuwahara and Scott Greenberg ("Bob's Burgers") and produced by Leanne Moreau ("Young Justice").

HBO Max announced today it will be crowning The Prince, created by Gary Janetti (Family Guy, Will & Grace), as the latest animated comedy series order for the streamer. The series is inspired by Janetti's hilarious Instagram account which has nearly one million followers and has garnered international media attention for its satire of British Royals through the eyes of a young Prince George, eldest child of Prince William and Princess Kate. Janetti will star in the series as Prince George alongside the voice talents of Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Tom Hollander as both Prince Philip and Prince Charles, Alan Cumming as George's butler Owen, Frances De La Tour as Queen Elizabeth, and Iwan Rheon as Prince William.

"We're so excited to bring the world Gary's created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know - that George can be hilarious, shocking, and surprisingly sweet," said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max. "We can't wait to see what Gary does with a bigger canvas to paint on than just a 1:1 square."

"I'm thrilled to be working at HBO Max and bringing them yet another series about a family ruthlessly fighting for the throne," said Janetti.

The Prince is a biting, satirical look at the life of Prince George of Cambridge, the youngest heir to the British throne, as he navigates the trials and tribulations of being a royal child.

Before George rules Britannia, he'll be laying down his own laws in Janetti's comedic take on the future King of England's childhood as seen from the prince's own point of view. Because his succession isn't coming any time soon, in each episode George will find his path in life as a young prince in modern times - from the 775 rooms of Buckingham Palace to his family's sea of corgis to primary school with commoners. The Prince also features notable characters in George's life such as his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, his fourth-in-line-for-the-throne little sister Charlotte, his modern Aunt Meghan and Uncle Harry, his great-grandad Philip, and - who can forget - his Gan Gan Elizabeth.

This is the second project for Janetti with HBO Max after the previously announced Brad and Gary Go To... (wt), a travel doc with Gary's husband, popular celebrity stylist Brad Goreski that will begin production this year. Janetti's recent book Do You Mind If I Cancel is a New York Times bestseller.

The series is written and executive produced by Gary Janetti and produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

  1. “The Prince” is THĒ ABSOLUTE “FLUMMERY TARTIEST” of its genre and Beyond. I adore “Owen” and the Grandest of GrandFatherly relationships he has with the young “Prince George”. He is the proverbial Glue that holds the Royal family together. “The Queen” is Deliciously Raw and Unforgiving with her Love by her side she wields her power like a mighty Gladiator! Today was our(me and my Entire family’s) first time watching, and we Literally could Not stop laughing..
If only I had the time to express how Clearly and Presently each family member and staff member brings LIFE to the “Every Day Life” of the “Untouchables”..
Bravo & Well Done????(air high five).
In the words of the Brits, “BANG ON” and “DING DONG”!????
Needless to say, but I shall,
    WE L????VE “THE PRINCE”!

  3. I, like many of you, found this article while searching for the release date of season 2 after literally inhaling season 1. This for me was Family Guy mixed with Archer mixed with a pinch of South Park and I loved every minute of it! I hope they make a season 2 and make it fast, I don’t know how long I can wait 😀

  4. I love this show. It makes me laugh so hard. I don’t understand the critics against it bc he is a child..it is just funny. I also think the Megan and Harry characters are spot on!! Owen is the best bc everyone should bow down to the amazing Alan Cummings!
